In 2008, an idea was born. We began forming teams of energetic young people with a desire to help their country - mostly high school and university students - to put on health education programs at schools, churches and in public places, using our videos and songs. So far, we have teams in Hinche, Port-au-Prince, Cap Haitien, Jacmel, Thomond, Mirebalais, Domond and Jeremie and are continuing to form more. Our goal is to have a team in every department (state) of Haiti by the end of this year. This initiative has been very successful and as a result, many thousands of people have learned how to stay healthier. In October of last year, we even put on an educational concert series featuring Mark Coughlin in several cities of Haiti. At our Hinche concert, we had approximately 3,000 people attend! In the aftermath of the January, 2010 earthquake, our teams began putting on health presentations and distributing soap and other hygienic products in the tent cities that sprung up in Port-au-Prince and other cities around Haiti. Currently, our teams are working all over Haiti, teaching people how to prevent cholera infection. Scroll down for photos.
